Luis Suarez has revealed he was in tears after his move from Liverpool to FC Barcelona was completed.

The Uruguayan striker left Anfield over the Summer in a ÂŁ75million deal, which took place after he was once again punished for biting an opponent.

Suarez was banned for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup during Uruguay’s game with Italy, and the striker admitted that after the controversy, he was worried that any potential transfer could have fallen through.

However, the deal still took place, and in a recent interview, Suarez has admitted that the news brought him to tears.

“When my agent Pere Guardiola rang to tell me the Barca deal was done I began to cry, because after what happened with Chiellini I thought it was all going to fall through,” he said.

“So I will always be grateful to Barcelona for their confidence in me and it’s something I’ll appreciate in every game.

“I was very emotional when they signed me and I felt overjoyed.”
