Arsenal’s summer signing, Lukas Podolski, believes that the partnership between himself and fellow new-boy Santi Cazorla can spark a title challenge for the North London club. The two new boys at the Emirates were on top form when they helped Arsenal brush aside Liverpool at Anfield on the weekend with both of them getting on the score sheet and both of them setting each other up.

Lukas has recently been talking about the premiership and he firmly believes that his new side are in a strong position to be challenging for the title even without Robin Van Persie.

Germany striker Podolski, 26, said: “If we can play like we did at Liverpool, then we will fight for the title.

â€śWe are happy with the way we played. But it must be the start for us. The Premier League is very hard to win. It is not like Spain, where you have only Real Madrid and Barcelona fighting for La Liga. In the Premier League, you have five or six teams who want the title. We are one of those teams and we must fight for it”.

He then went on and spoke about Santi Cazorla saying that he has loved every minute of training with Santi and he loves the way the Spanish international plays the game. He said that they are always practising one and two touch passing between each other, which came affective in the game at Anfield.

When asked about Robin Van Persie, Podolski said that of course Arsenal won’t forget about him because he is an amazing player, but he added the fans want to see the club win every week and if we can achieve that then they will be positive about us.
