Everton manager, Roberto Martinez, believes Romelu Lukaku can become one of the world’s greatest players.

The Toffees signed the Belgium striker over the Summer from Chelsea in a deal worth £28million, and despite the fee smashing the club’s record transfer fee, Martinez still believes they signed the 21-year-old on the cheap.

Over the past three seasons, Lukaku has quickly become of the striker’s most clinical finishers, during his loan-spells at West Brom and Everton respectively, and his new boss believes he has all the attributes to go on to be the greatest player in the world.

‘He is someone that holds up the ball and brings a lot of fear to the opposition because they always get players around him which opens space at all times,’ Martinez is quoted as saying in the Liverpool Echo.

‘He’s got power, he’s got pace, he’s a clinical footballer driving the ball – I’ve been delighted with Rom.

‘I think he’s doing exactly what the team needs. He’s such a winner that he wants to become the best striker in the world and he’s got the potential to do that.’
