Everton seem to have lost hope of landing Romelu Lukaku this summer, as it seems that he will be staying at Chelsea.

Lukaku impressed last season while on loan at Everton, and manager Roberto Martinez was hoping to bring him to Goodison Park on a permanent basis, but Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has claimed that Chelsea are finished in the transfer market regarding senior players, hinting that Lukaku will be staying in West London. It is also thought that Luakaku wants to stay at Chelsea to challenge Diego Costa and Fernando Torres for a starting place.

Mourinho will not be wanting to sell any more attacking options after the departure of both Demba Ba and Samuel Eto’o already this summer. Meanwhile, Everton have turned their attention to Blues youngster Christian Atsu. The forward spent last season on-loan in Holland, but Chelsea could feel that a loan move to the Premier League would be good for his development.
