The Toffees striker has told John Stones to stay at Goodison Park

Romelu Lukaku has said his team-mate will realize his potential if he stays at the Merseyside club.

The former Barnsley centre-back has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea, who have made several bids for the England international – the latest thought to be worth around £30million.

Manchester United have also been linked with the 21-year-old as manager Louis Van Gaal looks to bolster his defensive options.

Lukaku, who moved from Chelsea to Everton, has insisted Stones is in the best environment and he needs to continue developing at Everton.

“To be fair John is in a good situation at a good club which believes in him, he is playing and is learning a lot from Phil Jagielka” said Lukaku.

Chelsea bid for Juventus midfielder

Reports emerged last night the Blues made a ÂŁ60million bid plus Juan Cuadrado for Paul Pogba, but Juventus are reluctant to sell the France international.

The Old Lady has already seen Arturo Vidal and Andrea Pirlo join Bayern Munich and New York City respectively and are desperate not to lose another key midfielder.

Pogba has been heavily linked with a move away from the Italian outfit all summer and has previously stated he would like to join Barcelona or stay put at Juventus.

The La Liga side reportedly lodged their own bid, thought to be worth around ÂŁ57million, for the former Manchester United player.
