After months of uncertainty surrounding the future of Romelu Lukaku, his agent has come out to publicly say that he will be staying at the club.

Lukaku has been linked with a £65-million move away from Goodison Park this summer, after scoring 25 times for Everton over the course of last season.

Both Manchester United and Chelsea have publicly declared their interest in the player as they look to bolster their attacking options in a bid to win the title next season, and this was coupled with Lukaku’s public desire to “win titles” at a club.

However, following the recent arrival of major shareholder Farhad Moshiri and new manager Ronald Koeman, as well as the promise that the Dutchman will have £100million to spend, both the striker and his agent seem to be willing to give the club time to build back into one of the Premier League’s superpowers.

Raiola, speaking to news outlet Sportwereld, declared: “Everton don’t need the money anymore but Romelu wants to play for a club that can win trophies.

“[However] something’s changed at Everton. There’s a new project. If he leaves, it has to be a good deal for all parties.”

Romelu also linked with moves to Italy:

Lukaku has been also been linked with a move to Serie A, most notably champions Juventus, who will want to bring in more attacking players to carry on recent success.

“Romelu certainly has the qualities to play in Italy. But as the Italian landscape currently looks, there’s no team that can afford him. He is too expensive for Serie A.

“Only a global power can pay for him. The top clubs in England, Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.”

Though it is looking increasingly likely that Romelu Lukaku will stay in Merseyside next season, any true decisions will not be made until after Euro 2016.
