West ham United keeper Lukasz Fabianski says the team needs to focus on playing football rather than thinking about the price tags. The London side had a rather underwhelming start under the guidance of Manuel Pellegrini who has been trying to rebuild the team after taking over from Slaven Bilic this season.

Fabianski was one of newest arrivals at the London Stadium since his £7m summer move from Swansea City and seems to be in good touch although he had to concede six goals in first two matches The polish international returns to his old club where he spent seven years of his illustrious football career. He hadn’t been able to justify his talent at the Emirates Stadium but he has proved his worth in the Premier League over the last few seasons and is gearing up for a new challenge.

In an exclusive interview to Sky Sports the custodian said, “Last season it was one of the points where the team struggled and looking at this week where we worked we have been putting a lot of attention into defending and we will improve for sure.

“They punished us for the mistakes we made and I think we will be smarter after that game. I understand the price tags and the money spent, and everyone then believes because of that you are better than other teams, but the money doesn’t play out on the pitch.

“It’s all about performing on the day. With time we will be much better as a team and a group. A few players came from different leagues and it always takes time to adjust to the pace and speed and intensity of the Premier League. Even though we lost the first two games I think we will have a good season.”
