Manchester United defender Luke Shaw has reassured he is doing fine following a nasty head injury in England’s 2-1 loss against Spain in the UEFA Nations League at the Wembley Stadium.

Following an impressive start to the season Shaw returned to the Three Lions fold after more than a year. The United left back set up Marcus Rashford for the opening goal as England got ahead quite early. But successive goals from Saul Niguez and Rodrigo saw them losing the match 2-1.

Shaw had a pretty horrific injury record. The 23 year old collided with Dani Carvajal and then his head hit the turf very hard which impacted his injury more severely.

English FA released a statement: “Luke is awake and alert, having been assessed by our doctor and given an X-ray. He’ll stay with us overnight for further observation, with another update to come in the morning”

He had to be treated on the pitch before being carried away on a stretcher. The extent of the injury is unknown but the player himself later tweeted and revealed there is no need to be concerned.

“Thank for for all the love and support. I am doing fine and in the best hands I’m a fighter so I will be back soon.”
