Southampton defender Luke Shaw has admitted that he is happy to hear his name being linked with a mega-move in the Summer to one of the Premier League giants.
The 18-year-old, who has been superb this season for The Saints, has been linked with a move to either Chelsea or Manchester United once the campaign ends, and despite admitting that he is happy at Southampton, he has now revealed that he’s flattered by the speculation surrounding his future.
The starlet was named in the PFA Team of the Year last night, alongside his team-mate Adam Lallana, and after the award ceremoney, he spoke openly about his future and about being linked with a move to a top English club.
‘It’s a good thing to be linked with them, but I don’t concentrate on that, I’ve got football to focus on,’ he said.
‘Yeah of course [I’d be happy to stay at Southampton], I’ve said it a number of times, it’s a great club and I’m still young and have a lot to learn.’
