Luke Shaw has picked his second consecutive award as the left back has been adjudged Manchester United’s player of the month.
Despite the negativity surrounding the club Shaw’s meteoric progress to the big scene has been the only positivity over the last few days. The youngster has started the season with a bang and has the made the left back position as his own.
His excellent performance for United also earned him a England call up after a gap of a long time and the 23 year old is expected to continue his development in the coming days.
David De Gea came second with 37% votes while midfielder Marouane Fellaini got 23% of the votes cast by the United supporters. Shaw is likely to retain his position when United take on Newcastle United in the next fixture.
The Red Devils have already endured their worst start to the season any more hiccups would dent severe blow to their top four hopes. Shaw said, “We’re professionals and I won’t be getting too carried away. I’ll just keep doing my job, keep working hard, keep doing what the manager and coaching staff say. I still want to improve and I still feel like I can improve massively, so that’s what I want to do, improve as a player and a person off the pitch as well and help the team out as much as possible.”
