Lyon Bruno Genesio revealed how Nabil Fekir reacted to the cancellation of his Liverpool move. Genesio said that it was hard for Fekir to come to terms with the situation. Nabil Fekir’s move to Liverpool was almost done but it fell apart at the eleventh hour as Liverpool decided not to sign him due to a history of knee problems.
Genesio said, “It is never easy accepting this kind of situation, when you are very near to signing for a club where you want to go. Where you want to reach another level and to give a boost to your career. But as I said, it could have been worse for him. He is at Lyon, at a strong club, he is captain of a team who plays in the Champions League.”
Lyon had a poor start to their Ligue 1 campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Stade Reims in Fekir’s absence. Fekir will be hoping to make his first league appearance when Lyon take on Strasbourg on Saturday.
