Pablo Machin has hailed Sevilla’s 2-0 win over Barcelona from the first leg of the Copa Del Rey.

Wissam Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia scored one goal apiece to see their side over the line against the holders.

Sevilla manager Pablo Machin has said that he is happy with the two goal lead his side have over the reigning Copa Del Rey champions Barcelona after the first leg of the quarterfinal matchup. Wissam Ben Yedder and Pablo Sarabia scored one goal apiece to get Sevilla over the line against the Blaugrana after Ernesto Valverde made seven changes to the starting lineup for the match.

Speaking to the media after the match, the Sevilla manager expressed his delight on the win over the holders of the prestigious trophy in the first leg. He said, “Keeping a clean sheet was extra important tonight, it’s hard to keep one against Barca and it puts us in a good position for the second leg.”

Machin hailed the 2 goal lead as handy as he added on, “Hopefully it is not bread for today and hunger for tomorrow. It is the best rival we could face so that the victory was comforting. It was demanding, but overall we generated more.”
