Maclom admitted of having a dream to play for Barca
Barcelona’s new signing Malcom had admitted that he desired to play for the Spanish side since a long time.
Malcom signed for the Spanish side on a five-year contract for a reported transfer fee of €41 million plus an additional €1 million in bonuses. There were linkups that the Italian side AS Roma were closing in on a deal Malcom’s former team Bordeaux with a reported €40 million fee being agreed between the two clubs. But the deal was hijacked by Barca and the player went to Camp Nou.
In talks with the Official Website, the player spoke up about his dream of playing for the Spanish side.
“I always wanted to go to Barcelona. I was always calm. My agents have been in charge of this whole issue” said the midfielder.
“It was an opportunity to play for Barcelona and here I will play with the best players in the world. I am very happy to be able to be at a team like this”
“It’s very difficult to come to Barcelona, but I am going to give all I have to do a good job. I am very happy in my heart, I am realising a dream that I have had since childhood.”
The player was linked to many big clubs like Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham and Paris Saint-Germain due to his performance for the French side Bordeaux.
He was a part of the French side for 3 years and played over 90 games scoring 23 goals for the side. His best performance for the side came last year when he scored 12 goals for the side.
Barca sports director also spoke about the player.
He said, “We saw that he had the Barcelona profile, “He is a left-footed player who can play on both wings, while he can also play as an attacking midfielder. He has a big future ahead of him.”
