Kevin de Bruyne is making a premature comeback to Man City after being ruled out of the Belgian squad.

De Bruyne will not be featuring in the Wednesday’s Nations League clash with Iceland due to an injury scare.

The midfielder was pulled out of the field after 73 minutes during the England vs Belgium match on Sunday. Although there was no visible injury, he was seen talking to the Belgium head coach Roberto Martinez while walking off the field.

After the game, Roberto Martinez confirmed that Kevin de Bruyne suffered no injury as of now, but he still has to be checked thoroughly before he can play for the next match.

De Bruyne felt ‘something’ during the game and thus was called off the pitch.

“I would not say that Kevin is injured. He said he felt something,” said Martinez.

“It is too early to know what he has, but he did not feel a hundred percent. It was rather a precautionary change.”

De Bruyne has made his way back to Manchester City now that he’s not fit enough for the Belgium squad any longer, or at least till the next game.

“UPDATE: Kevin De Bruyne has returned to his club. He couldn’t be fit enough to play against Iceland,” read a statement posted on the Belgium’s Twitter account.
