Aleksandar Kolarov scored a sensational free-kick in Serbia’s win over Costa Rica.

Cristiano Ronaldo blew off the roof with his effort in Portugal’s draw with Spain on Friday night, but this strike from the Manchester City’s legendary left-back was stunning.

Costa Rica were clearly lacking the cutting edge to really threaten their opponents.

Serbia dominated most of the match with the ball and chances.

Newcastle United’s striker star Aleksandar Mitrovic bottled a couple of easy goal scoring chances.

It was the Manchester United’s big money summer target Sergej Milinkovic Savic, who could have involved in winning the contest far easily, if only Serbs had taken any of the chances he laid on for his team-mates.

Lazio star Savic did not disappoint with an amzing display against Costa Rica.

But the Serbs Road to Russia was lead by one of the most senior players in the squad, Aleksander Kolarov.

The Serbian left footed player’s brilliant second-half free-kick saw Serbia beat Costa Rica 1-0 in their opening Group E contest on Sunday afternoon.
