Man City offer Sagna three-year contract!

Manchester City are offering Bacary Sagna a three-year contract at the Etihad, in the hope of luring the defender away from Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of the season. Sagna is out of contract at the end of the current campaign and a move away from the Emirates is looking increasingly likely.

The 31-year old has already rejected two different offers from Arsenal, the latest one being a ÂŁ60,000 a week deal for two-years, but the full-back is believed to be holding out for the three-years that Man City are offering. The former Auxerre man is only free to discuss a summer move with clubs outside of England, but boss Arsene Wenger is keen to keep hold of his fellow Frenchman, with Carl Jenkinson being the only other recognised right-back.

However, with Sagna wanting three more years at more than ÂŁ90,000 a week, Wenger realises that he may have to let him go and that it would also free up some funds for summer spending. Even at 31, the defender would be a brilliant free transfer for City if they can fight off reported interest from Inter Milan and Galatasaray.
