Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure has turned down a £430,000-a-week offer from China.

Ivorian Yaya Toure attracted interest from the Chinese Super League in the summer, when after a public bust up between himself, his agent and Pep Guardiola, appeared to spell the end for his time in Manchester.

He opted NOT to move after he was approached, and gave the exact same response when he was contacted AGAIN to tell him the offer was still on the table in the CURRENT transfer window.

Toure’s contract with Manchester City is up in the summer, and has featured regularly for City since being recalled to the squad in November, and the 4-0 loss at the hands of Everton on Janurary 15th was the big midfielders SEVENTH appearence in a row.

Toure has been able to sign a pre-contract agreement with clubs should he wish to leave since Janurary 1st, but it is reported he still very much enjoys the game here in England, and would prefer to remain in Manchester.

Pep Guardiola has made no promises to his midfield man about his future with the club, and at the age of 33, fans will have to assume that it will all come down to Toure himself to earn a new contract by playing at the very top of his ability.

Having joined the Citizens back in 2010, Toure has been a constant in the City midfield, but after not featuring for a long while this season, was reintroduced as an important aspect of City’s game once more – after German midfielder Ilkay Gundogan suffered a cruciate ligament injury against Watford on 14 December, that is more than likely going to rule him out until the end of this campaign. (Remember those tribute shirts? Oh my..)

Time will tell if former Barcelona man Toure will be able to earn himself another year in Manchester, but with how the season is going for the blue side of the city, Toure may have to pull something very special out of the bag to stand out.
