The Red Devils are in the market for a new right-back according to reports
Man United are set to launch a new bid to sign Fabinho from Monaco, according to Marca.
New boss Jose Mourinho has worked with Fabinho before and believes he could bring a boost to the current Red Devils defence, especially with current right-back Matteo Darmian being linked with a move away.
The Italian – who has only been at Old Trafford for a year – hasn’t had the greatest of times in England and is now wanted by both Napoli and Roma, who are willing to take him back to Italy.
Fabinho to replace Darmian
With a deal potentially being done to send him back to Serie A, it means United are down by one right-back and Mourinho believes Fabinho can be a worthy replacement for Darmian.
The defender has fared well in France for Monaco, who he joined on a permanent basis in 2015 after a previous loan spell with the Ligue 1 side. He’s made close to 100 appearances for the French side and at just age 22, he has bags of potential and many more years left in the tank.
A bid for the Brazilian – who has made a four appearances for his national side – would have to be around £26m to persuade Monaco to consider selling him on.
