The Red Devils have given up on the signings of Bale and Ronaldo

James Rodriguez is the latest Real Madrid star to be wanted by Man United.

The Red Devils had been keen to bring former player Cristiano Ronaldo back to Old Trafford but it is unlikely Madrid will let him leave.

They then admitted defeat in their pursuit of Bale but they haven’t given up on signing a Real Madrid man, with Rodriguez now interesting United. Louis Van Gaal is a big fan of the Colombian and although they were plotting a move for Felipe Anderson, reports are claiming they would much rather sign Rodriguez.

If the money to put a move together is handed to Van Gaal, then a bid will indeed be made for the 24-year old, as they look to add spark to their current side and add some more attacking flair to a side that is currently struggling.

Chelsea also considering a bid

However, they will face competition from another Premier League side in need of flair in Chelsea, with Hiddink also eager to tie a deal up for the Colombian as soon as this January, with Abramovich believed to have given the go ahead.

It all depends on what the attacking midfielder/winger wants to do and what his club wants to do – The Blues want him next month ahead of a new manager joining in summer, while the Red Devils are willing to wait and seal a deal for him at the end of the season.
