The news comes from a senior Barcelona director

Barcelona technical secretary Robert Fernandez has revealed winger Pedro has told the club he wants to leave.

The Spain international is wanted by Manchester United, after they sold Angel di Maria to PSG for £44.3 million last week.

Pedro has a release clause of £21.5 million at the Camp Nou, which United were reportedly set to pay in the next week.

Fernandez dropped the bombshell on Spanish television channel TV3 saying:

“He’s told me he wants to leave. But we want him to stay. We are not going to accept less than €30m for him, it’s not negotiable.”

However Pedro came off the bench to net the winning goal of Barcelona‘s dramatic 5-4 UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla on Tuesday night, with Luis Enrique seemingly wishing to deploy him as an impact player.

Barcelona boss Enrique has had his say on the situation

Prior to the Super Cup clash, Enrique said he had no qualms selecting a player because of speculation in the transfer window.

“I have never decided to pick a player or leave him out because of the transfer window,” he said.

“I would like to keep all my players through the whole season. But we have talked enough about Pedro. The solution will arrive soon.”
