Although Manchester United has only won five major titles in the last ten years, they have the greatest net spend in the world. In an attempt to relive the grandeur of the Sir Alex Ferguson era, the club has spent a lot of money on players during the past ten years. But during this time, they have only won two FA Cups, two Carabao Cups, and a Europa League trophy; they have failed to win the greatest honors in the sport.
A good illustration of United’s pattern may be found in the most recent summer transfer window. They spent £200 million on Leny Yoro, Joshua Zirkzee, Matthijs de Ligt, Noussair Masraoui, and Manuel Ugarte, but after firing Erik ten Hag, they are currently in 13th place in the Premier League.

Surprisingly, United spends even more money than Chelsea. Although the Blues have spent a lot more than United (€2.78 billion versus €1.95 billion), they have made superior financial balances through sales.
The acquisitions of Lionel Messi, Neymar, and Sergio Ramos have propelled Paris Saint-Germain to third place with €991 million (£825 million). However, they also lost their greatest asset, Kylian Mbappe, to Real Madrid for nothing in the summer. With a net expenditure of €795 million (£661 million), which is more than Spurs’ €711 million (£591 million), Arsenal trails rivals Tottenham in fourth place. Declan Rice (£105m) and Kai Havertz (£65m) are two important players that the Gunners haven’t hesitated to pay a premium for, while Tottenham spent £65m this summer on Dominic Solanke.
The current Premier League champions Manchester City, AC Milan, Newcastle, Barcelona, and Al-Hilal, who complete the top 10, are surpassed by them. With a net spend of €366 million (£304 million) during the past ten years, Liverpool is ranked 17th on the list, below teams like Bournemouth (£318 million), Aston Villa (£433 million), and West Ham (£456 million).
