Everton are facing yet another battle to keep John Stones at the club, as Manchester City join the race to sign him.

The sky blues now join Chelsea, Manchester United and Barcelona in a bid to sign the 21-year-old, and have immediately seemed to have jumped to the front of the queue, as the youngster probably won’t want to move far from home.

Everton refused to sell him last summer despite Chelsea making a record £37m bid,  but it is looking more likely that they will face another battle in the next transfer window.

Jose Mourinho was extremely keen on signing the defender when in charge of chelsea, and will most likely continue his plight to sign him if given the Manchester United job this summer.

However, there is serious interest and it is City who are keen to sign the best young English talent as they look to bolster their squad with Pep Guardiola coming in- who is also interested in Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gundogan.

Everton are fully aware that is would be a negative to sell John Stones, as many clubs are also sniffing around Romelu Lukaku. Selling two young stars at the club could mean a huge downward spiral for the Merseyside club.

Manchester United, Real Madrid, Paris Saint Germain and Bayern Munich are all watching developments on the Belgian striker, and even though Everton will want around £65m for him, the fans will be livid if they lose their young prize assets.
