Manchester City are plotting a move for Schalke play-maker, Julian Draxler.
The Premier League champions aren’t expected to be busy during the January transfer window, but according to reports, they may look into a player-swap deal with the Bundesliga side.
According to reports, Schalke, managed by Roberto Di Matteo, are desperate to sign City defender, Matija Nastatic, and with the Serbian failing to break into the first-team at the Etihad Stadium, Manuel Pellegrini is open to a deal.
Nastasic was linked with a move to Arsenal over the Summer, and Draxler has been a long-term target of Arsene Wenger, so this potentially deal would come as a massive blow to the Frenchman, who is also in the market for a new defensive figure.
City are willing to offer £25million for Draxler, but it’s not yet understood whether that’s including Nastasic as part of the deal.
