Manchester City FC new player in and out 2017-18. Here is the Manchester City FC Squad 2017-18. The January transfer window 2017 is closed and we have the full Manchester City transfers list 2017 with all Manchester City new player signings 2016/17.

Manchester City have had a mixed season compared to their original expectations. With the arrival of Pep Guardiola, City were expected to do very big things. They had their sights set on Premier League and Champions League glory. However, neither of those ambitions were met. Now, Pep is realising that the Premier League is a very difficult league. He will have to take a good look at his squad ahead of the 2017/18 season.

The signings he made in the 2016/17 season had mixed results. The most notable among them were goalkeeper Claudio Bravo and striker Gabriel Jesus. Despite only joining in January, and getting injured for a lot of the season, Jesus won plenty of plaudits. He took to the Premier League very easily and is proving a fantastic partner for Sergio Aguero.

Bravo however, did not take to the Premier League. Despite showing good form at previous club Barcelona, he has been awful in a City shirt. Fortunately, Guardiola has spotted this problem and is addressing it.

Manchester City 2017 targets

City have ALREADY made 2 signings in this window, and you’d bet there’s going to be more. Winger Bernado Silva has been signed from AS Monaco for a reported £43million fee. Another £40million has been spent on goalkeeper Ederson, as a replacement for the flop Bravo.

They’ve been linked with many more players. Virgil van Dijk from Southampton is reportedly a top target, however he appears to be on his way to Liverpool. They’ve been linked with Benjamin Mendy and Fabinho, both defenders at Monaco. It is clear that the defence has been an issue and Pep is starting to address that. They have no problems going forward, but their title challenge died with such an average defence. The additions of the previously mentioned players, plus potentially Kyle Walkers from Tottenham, would be a big improvement.

Manchester City 2017/2018 Squad

How does the Man City first team for 2017/18 season looks like? The Manchester City FC line up 2017/18 season will consist of these players.

Manchester City FC Goalkeepers

  • Claudio Bravo
  • Willy Caballero
  • Joe Hart (loaned out to Torino)

As previously mentioned, the goalkeepers have had a poor season at Man City. Guardiola decided he didn’t want to keep Joe Hart upon arrival, and signed Claudio Bravo instead. This proved to be a poor decision, but Guardiola is not going back on his opinion about Hart. It is thought that Joe won’t be on his way back to the Etihad this summer. So, where next for the England no.1?

Manchester City FC Defenders

10 best centre-backs ever in Premier League according to Jamie Carragher!

  • Pablo Zabaleta
  • Bacary Sagna
  • Vincent Kompany
  • Martin Demichelis
  • Nicolas Otamendi
  • Gael Clichy
  • Aleksandar Kolarov
  • John Stones

As said before, it is the defence that has let Man City down this season. They need to tighten this up this summer if they are to compete for the Premier League and Champions League. Vincent Kompany is good when fit, but that is rare. £49million spent on John Stones has not been justified this season. City need a major revamp at the back.

Manchester City FC Midfielders

  • Fernando
  • Fernandinho
  • Fabian Delph
  • Yaya Toure
  • Samir Nasri (loaned out to Sevilla)
  • Jesus Navas
  • Raheem Sterling
  • Kevin De Bruyne
  • David Silva
  • Leroy Sane
  • Ilkay Gundogan

City’s midfield has been strong this season despite injury problems. Leroy Sane and Ilkay Gundogan were amongst the first arrivals at the Etihad last summer. Both performed well this season during the time they had on the pitch. For Gundogan, this wasn’t too long, as shortly before Christmas he badly injured his knee and was ruled out for the season. However, he will be like a new signing once again when he returns. He put in some fantastic performances before his injury and City will welcome him back once he is fit.

Other midfielders have also had fantastic seasons, as usual. David Silva was as strong as ever, while Kevin De Bruyne always has the creativity to unlock a defence. Raheem Sterling had a much better season under the guidance of Pep Guardiola. He is looking a lot more of a dangerous player now in midfield.

Manchester City FC Forwards

  • Sergio Aguero
  • Gabriel Jesus
  • Nolito
  • Wilfried Bony (on loan at Stoke City)

These are the strikers in the Manchester City FC squad. Injuries for City left them quite short-staffed in attack, as a result of this they signed Gabriel Jesus in January. He was doing a fantastic job but then got injured away at Bournmouth and missed several weeks of his debut season. Nolito has spent a fair bit of time injured, and Wilfried Bony is out on loan at Stoke City.

The main man, however, is Sergio Aguero of course. He has had another stellar season in a City shirt and is a real asset to both the club and Premier League.
