Manchester City are interested in signing Brazil right-back Dani Alves who is currently without a club.

Alves left PSG following the end of his contract and is currently without a club. According to Globoesporte, Manchester City are interested in signing the 36-year old and made contact before the Copa America began.

Alves had a terrific Copa America as he led Brazil to their 9th title and was adjudged the Player of the Tournament. The right-back was brilliant on the right flank for Brazil and even managed to score a goal during the tournament in a group game against.

Following the tournament, when asked if he was open to joining Pep Guardiola at Manchester City, Alves responded: “I like challenges, I like the restlessness of being able to try something different. But now let’s sit down calmly. I’m free, I’m a player of the Brazilian team and open to offers. To learn English, for example? Yes, of course.”

According to the report from Globoesporte, Alves wants to join a top European club which could keep him in contention for a spot in Brazil’s squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Despite being 36, neither does Alves show any signs of slowing down nor does he want to. The Brazilian has easily established himself as one of the greatest right-backs of all-time and has had a career any footballer would kill to have. Alves has so far won 42 trophies in his professional footballing career.

We are all eager to know about Alves’ next destination. Former Brazil international Kleberson said that Jurgen Klopp should sign Alves whereas Manchester City seems the frontrunner to sign him. Wherever he goes, Alves will certainly give the first-choice right-back a tough fight for the place in the playing XI.
