Manchester City have entered the race to sign Burnley striker, Danny Ings, and are keen to beat Liverpool to the Englishman.

Ings is out of contract at Burnley in the Summer, and with his future expected to be away from Turf Moor, several clubs have thrown their names into the hat to try and lure him on a free transfer.

David Moyes’ Real Sociedad were strongly linked with signing him at the end of the season, but those reports have now been dismissed in Spain, but Liverpool and City are still in the race to sign the impressive striker.

The 22-year-old has had a great season in the Premier League with The Clarets and could be the key to their survival in the top flight, but Sean Dyche knows that come the end of the season, the club may lose their star-asset on a free.

Due to Ings being unde 24, either Liverpool or City will have to pay a small compensation fee for the deal, but they won’t have to pay a transfer fee.

City are desperate to sign English players in the Summer in order to fullfil the registration rules, and Ings is someone they are considering.
