Manchester City launch £60m bid Premier League star

Manchester City are submitting a £60 million bid to sign Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City, according to reports.

Pep Guardiola is now searching for cover in attack after Leroy Sane. He has been ruled out for at least six weeks after damaging his ankle ligaments in City’s 2-0 win over Cardiff City in the FA Cup on Sunday.

Guardiola had expected to sign Alexis Sanchez this month. But City lost out to Manchester United in the race for the Chilean.

City have now made a move to sign Mahrez ahead of Wednesday’s transfer deadline. The report claims that the Premier League leaders are keen to conclude the deal quickly. They want the Algerian winger to travel to Manchester on Tuesday.

Both Arsenal and Chelsea have been linked with the 26-year-old this month. Leicester City have been adamant that they would not allow the player to leave.

Reports in France have claimed that Mahrez has an agreement with Leicester which allows him to leave if a suitable offer is received.
