Manchester City have made an enquiry to Borussia Dortmund about striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang over a summer move to replace Sergio Aguero.
The 27-year-old is regarded as one of the best forwards in world football at the minute after ripping up the Bunesliga in the last few seasons, and City are only one of the big profile clubs to have been heavily linked with him.
Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid are also rumoured to be keen on Aubameyang, though the latter side could swing their interest towards Argentina international Aguero as he looks to leave the Etihad Stadium in the summer transfer window.
The striker is out of favour under City gaffer Pep Guardiola, with January recruit Gabriel Jesus currently starting ahead of him.
If Aguero leaves the Manchester outfit in summer, Guardiola has told the City hierarchy that he wants Aubameyang to be the number one target to replace him.
According to The Sun, City board have already been in contact over a possible transfer as Aubameyang has expressed his desire to leave the club.
Dortmund would want big money for the Gabon international, who has scored 60 goals in his last 73 appearances for the German giants.
