Bailey is one of the two names on City’s transfer list

Manchester City dominated the Premier League almost the whole season and won the title comfortably. But Pep Guardiola is still keen to bolster his side during the summer transfer window for the next season and wants to make two signings.

City wants a forward and a midfielder this summer and wants both the transfers to be done before the World Cup starts. Napoli’s Jorginho is their midfield target and hoping to announce his arrival before the end of may. Claudio Bravo could be involved as part of any agreement.

The Blue’s top priority is Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappe and are likely to approach the ligue 1 giants in the coming weeks. Pep wanted to bring him last summer but a deal never went through. If they fail to sign the forward then they will reassess their other two options and press ahead with strengthening their squad.

Manchester City are weighing up a summer move for Bayer Leverkusen forward Leon Bailey, Goal understands. He is one of two names on City’s non Mbappe list.

Bailey has been a revelation this season in Bundesliga and has been outstanding for his club. He has scored 9 goals and assisted 6 in the league and his form has attracted interest from many top European clubs like Manchester United and Chelsea.

City have been keeping tabs the 20 year old for some time and still considers him a viable option. Though they are not thinking about a move for him now and are aware that other European clubs are interested in him.

But if they fail to land Mbappe, then they will press ahead with a move for either Bailey or a different target.
