Pep Guardiola is keen to sign him

Manchester had an excellent campaign last season as they cruised to Premier League title, finishing the season with 100 points. They also won the League Cup, to complete the domestic double.

Despite having an excellent group of players at his possession, Pep Guardiola secured the signing of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester City during the transfer window. The winger was also linked with a move during the January transfer window.

The Spaniard also prioritized signing a holding midfielder as he realized the club was too dependent on him and wanted a long term successor. They were heavily linked with Fred and Jorginho.

But the Brazil International decided to join their rivals Manchester United and the Italian midfielder snubbed them to join his former manager Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea.

The Premier League giants failed to add any midfielder before the transfer deadline but they are still in a hunt for a new midfielder.

Guardiola is considering a £60 million move for Ruben Neves this winter, according to The Sun.

The Portugal International joined Wolves from Porto for £16 million last summer and was a revelation for the club last season. He caught attention with his array of impressive performances while helping his team to earn promotion to the Premier League.

The midfielder, known for scoring wonder goals,  scored six goals and assisted one in the Championship. He has been dubbed the Portugese Andrea Pirlo, the Italian legend who is his hero.

He was heavily linked with a move to other Premier League clubs throughout this summer but decided to say as he felt it would be a risk for him to change clubs now.

The 21 year old had a great start in the Premier League as he scored in the opener against Everton last weekend, showing his class already.
