According to reports in Spain, Manchester City are planning a sensational move for the in-form Uruguayan, even though he penned a new contract until 2018.
However, that has not stopped Spanish newspaper Marca fuelling rumours that Manchester City have made the Liverpool striker their top target for this summer.
Real Madrid and Arsenal were heavily linked with a move for Suarez last summer, with the latter offering £40,000,001 with the belief that they had triggered a clause, which Liverpool owner John W. Henry recently admitted was true but Liverpool rejected the offer anyways and it has paid handsomely for Liverpool as the Uruguayan has fired them into a position to challenge for their first league title since 1990 with 25 goals.
However, Marca is now reporting that Manchester City could be the latest club to make a big money move for the Liverpool man.
The newspaper added that they believe that Manchester City’s Director of Football Txiki Begiristain has already held talks with Suarez. However, it will take a figure close to breaking the world record transfer fee for Liverpool to even consider an offer for their charismatic, prized asset. Especially with Champions League football seemingly about to be on its way back to Anfield next season.
Suarez has scored 25 goals for Liverpool this season and is the favourite to lift a number of awards, including the PFA Player of the Year Award.
