Two goals from Sergio Aguero was enough for Manchester City to pick up all three points in Russia against CSKA Moscow, in a game that was marred by some racist chants coming from the home support.

The win takes City to second on six points, behind Bayern Munich, and it makes them favourites to qualify to the knockout stages for the first time in the club’s history.

Here is some match reaction from after the full-time whistle.

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, when asked if he had heard racist chanting from the stands:

“I told the ref. I think it was unbelievable and very sad. We want to stop that.

“I think Uefa have to do a lot to try to stop it. Maybe close the stadium for a couple of games. As an African player, it is always sad when you hear something like that.”

Manchester City midfielder Yaya Toure, speaking about tonight’s result:

“The win was very important. It was very difficult to play good football. Full credit to the team, who worked very hard. It wasn’t easy.

“Sergio Aguero had a fantastic game. He is an amazing player. Joe Hart saved us.”

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini, when asked if he had heard racist chanting in the stands:

“I didn’t know about that. It’s a pity and I hope we have the right measures.”

Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini on his side’s victory:

“I’m very happy. The result is very important for the team. The whole team concentrated with intensity on a difficult pitch.

“Aguero and Silva are both top players and every match they show how they can play football. We are not in the next round but this is very important for us.”
