City ready to launch huge bid for Barca star
Manchester City are ready to pay £100million in their attempt to sign Lionel Messi from Barcelona.
The rumours come due to uncertainty surrounding his contract situation at Barcelona.
Reports are claiming that the forward could link up with him former boss, Pep Guardiola, at the Etihad Stadium.
It’s believed that executives of both clubs have already met to discuss the possibility of the world-record move.
Although City did not use those discussions to table any formal bid, Barcelona’s “willingness to listen” is reported to have encouraged them, with the Sun saying a source had described the meeting as positive.
City also believe “the relationship Guardiola forged with Messi at Barcelona can seal a move” — a move the Sun says would bring the player a weekly wage of some £800,000.
