According to The Times, Pepe Guardiola has set no goal of making additions through the upcoming January transfer window.

Manchester City keep popping up on news feeds with their rumoured interests in numerous talents across Europe. Now that the side has dropped 7 points behind Liverpool in the Premier League title race, they have all the more reason to restrengthen at the nearest opportunity.

The Citizens have lost 3 games in the month of December, one against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and two on the trot against Crystal Palace and Leicester City over the past week. They are currently in the 3rd spot of the points table with Tottenham Hotspur ahead of them by a point.

Guardiola has allocated a mouth-watering pool of talented footballers at the Etihad, his last being a €67.8m transfer of Riyad Mahrez from Leicester. The board has offered him millions and the Spanish head coach has delivered success in the form of a domestic double last term.

City were heavy favourites to retain the Premier League title going into the 2018/19 campaign but now they have an uphill battle ahead of them.

Fernandinho has been a huge miss in midfield right along with Benjamin Mendy at left-back and Jesus at strike. They are set to face Liverpool next for their first game of 2019 and it might concerning for the City faithful to hear of the club’s future intentions.
