Manchester City are ready to bid up to £30million in order to sign Southampton starlet Luke Shaw this month, according to reports.
The young Englishman has been attracting a lot of attention from big clubs in the Premier League, with Manchester United, City and also Chelsea are interested in the 18-year-old.
City officials have already contacted Saints chairman Nicolas Cortese, and have told him that they will pay much more than their two rivals.
Shaw, who has been superb for Southampton since arriving in the Premier League, is seen as the long-term replacement for Ashley Cole on the England stage, and because of this, City are ready to beat the transfer record for a full-back, which is currently £29.5million, and that was when Dani Alves joined FC Barcelona.
Despite City’s interest, both Shaw and Southampton have made it clear that they don’t want to do a deal this month, but a move away in the Summer could be on the cards.
