Manchester City have signed a new kit deal with Puma.

This makes them part ways with long term kit makers Nike.

Manchester City reportedly have signed a mega kit deal with Puma worth ÂŁ650m, which makes it the second highest deal in the history of football, preceded by their noisy neighbours Manchester United, who had signed a deal with Adidas. However, in both cases, the common kit making brand that has been ditched is Nike.

The deal will be 10 years long and will cover all the sister clubs of the City Group as well. However, the Major League Soccer side New York City FC and Japanese club Yokohama F Marinos won’t be inclusive of the parties involved in the deal.

All the other clubs of the City group, Melbourne City FC, Girona FC, Club Atlético Torque and Sichuan Jiuniu FC are to get their kits from Puma from the 2019/20 season onwards. New York City FC and Yokohama F Marinos are set to stay under the banner of Adidas.

Speaking about the mega-deal, the CEO of Puma, Bjørn Gulden, said, “PUMA’s partnership with City Football Group is the largest deal that we have ever done – both in scope and ambition.”

The City Football Group chief executive Ferran Soriano said,  “Our relationship with PUMA, covering five City Football Group clubs across four continents, will reset the model for sports partnerships on a truly global scale whilst being locally relevant and authentic for fans around the world.”
