Manchester City To Complete Their Third Summer Signing In 20-Year-Old Midfielder

The latest reports claim that Manchester City are close to finalising their third signing of the 2019 summer transfer window.

They are set to bring in Jose Cifuentes from Ecuadorian club, CD América de Quito. Radio Carvana believe City have put forth their best offer and are expected to complete the transfer soon enough.

Cifuentes will not be injected into Pep Guardiola’s squad just yet. The 20-year-old will be sent out on loan to Croatia even with interests chiming in from Celtic.

This is not the first time, City have been noticed signing young South American talents. They already brought in Douglas Luis and Marlos Moreno before.

The Citizens have also brought in Rodri and Angelino this summer. Guardiola deemed the signing of both players essential to any upcoming success the club might have.

Coming fresh off of a domestic double, City were left with a few holes in their perfect setup. Benjamin Mendy’s injury history made the left-back post weak which the manager chose to answer by bringing back Angelino. The 22-year-old was sold off to PSV Eindhoven only a year back but was recalled on cheap due to a buy-back clause.

City also chose to break their transfer record on Rodri to address one of their most important positions, the defensive midfield post. Fernandinho turned 34 this year and there was no one who could quite take over his unique role at the Etihad.

Enter – Rodri, a 23-year-old Spaniard who has already earned 6 appearances for his country and was a regular in Diego Simeone’s Atletico Madrid squad for the past season.
