Manchester City are the subject of a FA investigation regarding an allegation that the Premier League club made a payment to Jadon Sancho’s agent when the player was 14.

Sancho joined the City academy in 2015 but a substantial fee of £200,000 was paid towards Emeka Obasi who appeared to have represented the teenager at that time.

German magazine Der Spiegel who has made a number of shocking revelations in the past few months discloses this on their website. City made it look like a scouting contract when they paid the sum to Obasi but Spiegel claimed the money was to ensure Sancho’s transfer to City.

City are already under investigation as UEFA is looking into possible breaching of the Financial Fair Play(FFP) rules. The FA have ensured they will go through the entire matter and will take necessary action if needed. “We can confirm that we will be investigating the allegations.”

City stood firm in their stands. They issued an official statement to deny all the allegations. “We will not be providing any comment on out of context materials purportedly hacked or stolen from City Football Group and Manchester City personnel and associated people. The attempt to damage the club’s reputation is organised and clear.”
