Man City ready to battle Red Devils for Bayern Munich’s Jerome Boateng.

Rivals Manchester United and Manchester are going to collide this summer as they battle to sign Jerome Boateng, according to the English transfer reports.

The German centre-back left the Blue side of Manchester for Bayern Munich seven years ago but could be set for a EPL return at the end of the current campaign. Injuries issues in recent campaigns had troubled the defender but he’s back this year and managed 21 Bundesliga starts for the runaway leaders in Germany.

Pep Guardiola is considering a deal to sign the 29-year-old, who is still one of the finest centre-backs in Europe, for a fee in the region of £50million, but with no surprise Jose Mourinho wants to spill the water on Pep’s chase.

Having managed the German star for the three seasons, City boss Guardiola hopes he can get Boateng to set aside memories of his previous spell with the club, which ended due to a lack of game time. But if he is available for transfer, it’s also believed the Spanish big boys Real Madrid and Barcelona will make moves for him.
