Manchester United, Arsenal and Chelsea have been handed a transfer boost after Paris St Germain midfield starlet Adrien Rabiot refused a new contract with the French club, sparking rumours he will be leaving in January, or even leaving for nothing next summer.

Rabiot has not been named in PSG’s 25-man Champions League squad this season, and with Italian side Roma also keen, expect a transfer battle for a future world star.

But rather than simply allowing the 19 year-old to leave, the French club will assess their options, and see what benefits them most financially.

The possibility of a swap deal with Kevin Strootman has already been dismissed by boss Rudi Garcia, with the club preferring a straight cash deal.

Adrien’s mother, Veronique Rabiot, has stated  “We do not make decisions based on financial criteria.

“They are important, of course, but the priority is the sports project.”

Competition is set to be fierce for the under-21 international.
