Football finance expert Kieran Maguire has said that Manchester United can sign Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele. The World Cup winning winger hasn’t been much of a regular for Barcelona and with the arrival of Malcom, his place in the playing XI is in jeopardy. Despite coach Valverde telling that Dembele is crucial for Barcelona, the Frenchman has been linked to the Premier League.
Arsenal have shown interest in the 21-year old. As a matter of fact, there was a picture of the World Cup winning youngster with some Arsenal players that suggested rumors of his transfer to the North London club.
However, Kieran Maguire believes that the Red Devils should make an attempt to sign the youngster. Maguire said, ”The two Manchester clubs who will be interested in him too. Mourinho is very unhappy in terms of United’s recruitment so far. I think most United fans saw the signing of Fred as solid, but very much treading water. If they want something to wet the appetite, then someone like Dembele could do that – and they can certainly afford him.”
Jose Mourinho desperate wants to sign a defender and a forward before the deadline day that is Thursday. The Portuguese is anything but pleased with United’s recruitment. He said, “We basically have the same players. The players we have bought, one is a goalkeeper cover, one is a 19-year-old kid, so in fact we have one new player which is Fred. So of course our team is not going to be very different.”
Manchester United begin their Premier League campaign against Leicester City on Friday.
