The Red Devils have reportedly entered the race to sign Barcelona’s Pedro

United will join Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool in a bid to sign the Spain international.

The 27-year-old has become frustrated with the lack of first-team opportunities at The Nou Camp and admitted this week the chances of regular starts in England is appealing.

“There are offers for me this summer and the situation is difficult. Any player wants to have playing time but it is getting more and more difficult” said Pedro.

Chelsea were believed to be the frontrunners to land the Barcelona winger, however reports in Spain suggest Blues manager Jose Mourinho is reluctant to pay the ÂŁ22million buy-out clause.

Premier League interest

Arsenal are also reportedly interested whilst Liverpool may decide to use some of the ÂŁ49million they received after Raheem Sterling joined Manchester City.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is keen to bolster his attacking options and is on the verge of signing Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke.

The Reds triggered the ÂŁ32.5million release clause in his contract and the Belgium international is set to complete his medical sometimes in the next few days.

Pedro suits United style

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal is reportedly looking to implement a 4-3-3 formation next season and a player like Pedro can play in an array of attacking positions.

Van Gaal has already brought in Memphis Depay for ÂŁ31million from PSV Eindhoven to strengthen attacking areas and could soon move for the Barcelona man.
