Owners of Manchester United The Glazer Family have today denied rumours that David Beckham and his Class of ’92 team mates have made a £2billion bid for the club. According to reports, Beckham, along with Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and the Neville brothers have made the bid with the help of the Qartari royle family.

They have apparently approached the Glazer family a number of times, and now the price is the only stumbling block. United currently find themselves 7th in the Premier League, and are on the verge of ‘the worst title defence ever’ according to football fans.

But club sources are insisting that the club isn’t for sale, with The Glazer’s determind to stay in charge and help United climb back to the top. Led by brothers Avram and Joel, they bought the club in 2005, but had to give up 10% of their control in 2012 due to a share issue. Many Manchester United fans have been unhappy with the ownership of the Glazer family, who also own the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, since they purchased a controlling stake in the club for £810million back in 2005. With the club stumblimng across massive debts in the recent years, with the sizable figures the club owed totaling up to over £700million at points.

This has turned the fans against The Glazer’s in recent years, with the ‘Glazer Out’ green and gold scarf still a common sight around Old Trafford.
