Red Devils targets set to sign new long-term Real deals

Manchester United have ended their interest in Real Madrid duo Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale, with both players set to sign new long-term deals at the Santiago Bernabeu.

The Red Devils had hoped to bring the Los Blancos duo back to the Premier League, which would mark an Old Trafford return for Ronaldo. However, Real are keen to sign their two key attacking talents down to new deals in the coming months.

Ronaldo said after Saturday’s win over Osasuna that, if he was the Real president, he would hand himself a new 10-year deal, while Bale is seen as the long-term replacement for Ronaldo, when he eventually retires.

United had been the monitoring the attacking duo for some time and asked Real officials to keep them informed with regards to their futures in the Spanish capital, as they prepared to make quick inroads to land their targets.

However, United are in no desperate need to bolster their attack, with Zlatan Ibrahimovic having netted four goals in four league games, while Rashford has continued this season where he left off last campaign – all be it from the bench.

Bale is settled in Spain, despite a tough first season in which he suffered some criticism from Los Blancos fans, while Ronaldo admits he wants to retire at the Bernabeu.
