Louis Van Gaal to splash £140million this Summer

Manchester United are set for another Summer of spending with Louis Van Gaal ready to pay up to £140million on signing four new faces for his squad.

The Red Devils spent over £150m last season on bringing in new players during Van Gaal‘s debut season, and it’s reported that the club are set for another busy and expensive Summer.

Van Gaal spent big on the likes of; Angel Di Maria, Luke Shaw, Marcos Rojo, Daley Blind and Ander Herrera last season, and he is set to make audacious moves for four stars this season.

United have already announced a deal to sign Memphis Depay from PSV Eindhoven for around £25m, but the spending won’t stop there.

Expected Summer Business

According to reports, Van Gaal is ready to make formal moves for; Tottenham Hotspur’s Harry Kane, Borussia Dortmund’s Mats Hummels or Valencia’s Nicolas Otamendi, Juventus’ Paul Pogba and FC Barcelona’s Dani Alves.

Van Gaal wants to buy a new spine to the team from back to front and those are the players he is targeting. He is yet undecided on whether to bring in Hummels or Otamendi, but with both carrying high price-tags, it’s believed only one will be signed.

United are back in the Champions League for next season so are ready to spend big to make them a competitive force again and after boasting strong financial results, the club are in a position to spend well over £100m yet again.

Kane, Hummels, Otamendi and Pogba will all be hefty expenses if deals are done, whilst Alves could be signed on a free transfer if he chooses to leave Barca this Summer. However his wage demands are expected to be high.

As well as signings, Van Gaal is expected to lose a few faces in order to free up some room. Radamel Falcao has already returned to AS Monaco, whilst Robin Van Persie is also expected to leave.
