Manchester United eyeing Diego Costa

United ready to launch surprise bid

Manchester United are ready to make a formal bid for Chelsea striker Diego Costa, according to reports.

United are in desperate need of a new striker, with the likes of Robin Van Persie, Danny Welbeck, Javier Hernandez and Radamel Falcao all leaving the club in recent times.

The player sales at Old Trafford have left the club with just Anthony Martial and Wayne Rooney as recognsied strikers, as well as starlet Marcus Rashford, who only emerged this season.

With the managerial situation still uncertain, transfers could be delayed at United over the summer, but if Louis van Gaal does remain at the club, a new striker will be high on his agenda.

Costa On United’s Radar

According to reports, a potential target is Chelsea‘s Costa, who is ready to leave Stamford Bridge this summer after growing frustrated.

Costa has netted 15 goals in all competitions so far this season, with the majority of them coming since Jose Mourinho was sacked and Guus Hiddink came in.

However, he’s still reportedly wanting out of Chelsea, with Atletico Madrid keen on re-signing the Spaniard, but according to reports, United could also launch a shock bid.

It’s claimed The Red Devils will offer around £47million for the striker.
