Manchester United face bigger test, not Arsenal, claims pundit

Sky Sport pundit Jamie Carragher believes it is Manchester United who face the big test on Sunday, rather than their opponents Arsenal.

The Gunners go into the game at the weekend knowing they haven’t won at Old Trafford for seven years, and even lost 8-2 there a couple of years ago, but so far this season, they have been the team to fear.

United are eight points behind Arsene Wenger’s men and former-Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes it is The Red Devils that face the bigger test.

‘Well, they have beaten Borussia Dortmund away, to go with victories over Liverpool, Tottenham and Napoli. Yes, they lost to Dortmund and Chelsea, but I think it just needs to be accepted now that Arsenal are an excellent team and look capable of challenging for trophies. They have another big game on Sunday at Old Trafford but perhaps the focus on what we can hope to learn should be on Manchester United instead.’

‘In contrast to Arsenal, United have not taken a big scalp for David Moyes yet in the Barclays Premier League. They drew with Chelsea earlier in the campaign before losing to Liverpool and Manchester City but this is a contest in which traditionally they have done well. Slowly but surely, United are finding their rhythm under Moyes and they go into the contest on the back of an eight-match unbeaten run. Yet it is not unfair to say Arsenal will be the best side they have faced since losing to West Brom on September 28.’
