Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has confirmed the departure of Alexis Sanchez while Manchester United have agreed on contract terms with the star.
Alexis Sanchez has agreed on contract terms with Manchester United according to reports.
Prior to the Bournemouth game, Arsenal manager confirmed the departure of star Alexis Sanchez but denied to comment on which club he will go to amid Manchester United talks.
The Chilean superstar was not included in Arsenal’s squad and did not travel to Bournemouth amid an imminent transfer move.
According to reports, Manchester United have offered a huge £400,000 a week salary to the 29-year-old, which he has agreed on, making Sanchez the highest paid player in the Premier League.
Manchester United are also willing to pay £30m to Arsenal for the star despite his contract running out at the end of the season. But United are desperate to get Sanchez in order to boost their Champions League and Premier League run this season.
Manchester City have pulled out of the race for the forward as they are not willing to spend more than £20m for him. City are also way short of the £400,000 a week salary Manchester United are offering Sanchez with a reported £290,000 offer on the table for the Chilean star.
Asked why Wenger had left Sanchez out of the squad, Wenger told Sky Sports that the Chilean had not decided yet which club he’d join, Manchester City or Manchester United.
And when asked if his exit was imminent, Wenger said: “Yes, don’t read too much in it because even I don’t know which way it will go [Manchester United or Manchester City].
Speaking after the Bournemouth loss, Wenger confirmed the move: “It will be decided in the next 48 hours.”
