Manchester United boss, Louis Van Gaal, is hopeful that he can sign Real Madrid midfielder, Sami Khedira, either in January or next Summer, fending off interest from rivals Chelsea and Arsenal.
The Premier League trio have all shown serious interest in the German international since the pre-season transfer window, but after Khedira demanded £250k-a-week, both Arsenal and Chelsea pulled away from the deal.
However, with his contract set to expire next Summer, a transfer away from the Bernabeu is likely to take place in the New Yearm with Madrid keen to sell in order to raise funds from the sale, rather than lose him on a free just months later.
Due to the Bosman Ruling however, Khedira is free to talk to overseas club in January, so he could agree a contract in principle with any of the three English teams.
