Manchester United have made an offer of around £20million for Benfica winger Nicolas Gaitan, and they are confident of wrapping up the deal in the coming days.
Gaitan is just one of United’s transfer targets this Summer, and has been monitored by the Premier League side for over a year now, and after the Argentine officially handed in a transfer request at the Portuguese club, United have made their move.
According to reports in Portugal, Manchester United have made a formal offer of £20m for the 26-year-old, and the feeling around the camp is that they can wrap up the deal quickly in order to fend off any competition.
It’s believed United will offer cash up front, but may also offer Bebe as part of the deal after he failed to light up Old Trafford during his short stay.
Benfica are willing to do business with the Premier League side, but are keen to get a substantial amount for their player, so that they can reinvest the money back into the squad.
